Anchor Fence Square Systems
[specifications]

Anchor Fence Company’s exclusive square construction fence framework was introduced to the industrial field over 65 years ago. Engineered to eliminate the need for using fabric-holding, wrap-around post bands, this framework design was developed to give an Anchor Fence a distinctly attractive appearance and to furnish more property protection by removing the potential hand or foot holds these fabric bands provide to would be trespassers.

This basically handsome and protective framework design -- incorporating square corner, end and gate posts, along with square line posts in the fence line -- is further enhanced by Anchor’s exclusive square frame gates.

Originally available in only galvanized steel, Anchor fence framework is now available in a choice of materials. These include galvanized steel, where strength and economy are desired … high strength aluminum alloys, where low maintenance is important … and all-vinyl coated framework which combines color and strength with low maintenance.

Anchor has the widest selection of chain link fence in the industry today - the right combination of design and material for any protection problem - all field tested for long life service and satisfaction.

Owners or operators of industrial plants, institutions, airports, playgrounds, athletic fields, or any other private, public, municipal, or federal installations can benefit from the security and protection of the quality Anchor line.

Choosing the proper posts will ensure a secure framework.

The End, Corner and Gate Posts must be strong enough to withstand the strain of the fabric which is stretched between them. If they are not of the proper strength, they will bow or bend.

Comparison Chart
Based on Calculated load/or yielding of Post
Post Type Bend Strength
2 1/2" Square Post 547 lbs.
3" O.D. Pipe Post (Sch 40) 444 lbs.
2 1/2" O.D. Pipe Post (Sch 40) 234 lbs.

Compare, for example, Anchor’s 2 1/2" square steel post with a bending strength of 547 pounds to a 3" round pipe post which is rated at only 444 pounds: The smaller square posts are considerably stronger than the larger round posts.

Square posts are available in 2" sq., 2 1/2" sq., 3" sq., 4" sq., 6" sq., 8" sq., and 10" sq.

  • Stronger
  • More Attractive
  • High Security

Because of our special method of attaching fabric to the posts, unsightly wraparound bands are eliminated. You increase your security because there are no bands to provide a foothold or nuts and bolts for vandals to remove. Notice the neat, clean-cut appearance of the square terminal post.

The Anchor Difference.

Anchor beauty is not skin deep. The quality goes all the way to the core. Every detail gives you maximum return on your investment.

The clips that attach the fabric and posts do not afford a foothold to climb.
With round Corner, End or Gate Posts, you lose a degree of security. The round band can be removed by loosening its nut and bolt.
The bands are also less attractive than the clip that holds the fabric to Anchor’s square post.

Anchor Fence Co, Inc. square frame
gates offer extra benefits.

Anchor designs and engineers gates to meet every type of requirement and condition. Requirements of unlimited head room, manual or electric operation, maximum width, utmost security, best appearance, trouble free operation and minimum maintenance have all been met and answered by Anchor engineers. Conditions of non-level driveways, minimal room for gate operation, frequent ice and snow, unusual vandalism, constant operation, and many others, are representative of the problems that have been satisfactorily resolved for thousands of Anchor customers.

Anchor’s experienced know-how is available to design, manufacture and install for you the most satisfactory, attractive and trouble free gate available, even for the most perplexing conditions.

Proper design of a gate can solve TWO problems at the same time: structural strength, and attractive appearance. Lateral strain is one of the most common causes of gate failure. This strain occurs constantly in normal opening and closing and is particularly damaging to gate corners where the horizontal and vertical members join. Unless these joints are very strong, this lateral strain will cause the whole gate to lack rigidity.

The improved construction of Anchor square frame gates does away with this common cause of gate breakdown. Made of square tubular steel or aluminum, the horizontal and vertical members of the Anchor gate frame are welded together to form a solid unit that gives strength and rigidity to the entire gate. Solved: the structural strength problem.

In addition to providing greater strength and rigidity, Anchor’s square frame construction also presents a very good looking gate. The use of square tubular members gives the gate clean cut lines. The chain link fabric is held permanently taut in the frame by means of tension rods which in turn are held snugly to all four sides of the frame by hook bolts. The use of hook bolts to hold the fabric in place eliminates the need for unsightly fabric bands and tie wires. Solved: the appearance problem.

These features make Anchor square frame gates the strongest, most protective, most attractive gates on the market.

The neat, attractive, uncluttered look of an Anchor square frame gate installation is readily apparent in this photo. The square tubular members, welded at the corners, plus Anchor’s exclusive method of using hook bolts and tension rods to tautly stretch the fabric to all FOUR sides (instead of using loose tie wires) contribute to the resistance to wracking, the rigidity and the strength found only in Anchor gates.
